Another new week brought some changes to our house...
First, Bre started high school today. I am happy to report that after a little bit of a bumpy start she has decided that it was not as bad as she was thinking it was going to be.
I think her favorite part is the fact that she has more freedom then she ever imagined. She called me at lunch from her cell phone, happy and visiting with a new found friend.
I am still in shock that my baby girl is actually in high school. It seems like just yesterday I was walking her to her kindergarten class and she didn't want to let go of me. Yes there were tears on both of our parts. Today wasn't much different except she hopped out of the car so quick I couldn't remember if I got to say I love you. I know she is going to be just fine. She is organizing her book bag as I am writing this. This is one of her nightly rituals, she likes to be prepared and organized.
We also now have to get up at 6:00am. I know for some of you this is normal, but not for us. Last year she didn't have to be at school until 9:30 which was also the same time I had to be at work. So we usually got up around 8:00 and took our time getting ready. Now we have to be out the door by 6:45 to get to school on time. (I will be glad when I get to go back to work and get myself back in a routine as well) Hope everyone is having a good week and if you still have this last week of summer vacation...enjoy.
Nita, if you can sleep in, don't make yourself get up, that will come soon enough next week. I will talk to Syd and Bo soon to tell them good luck with the new school year. Love those girlies.
I would also like to thank Stephanie and Melle for being such great friends and helping Bre and I find our way in this new high school adventure.
Oh and Kristy, please tell Mason I hope he loves Kindergarten and makes lots of new friends.

  1. sniff, sniff! I can't believe Bre is in high school! She was Syd's age when we started hanging out, and now look at her! OMG! That will be Syd in a few FWD A LOT!! So glad she enjoyed her day. I swear, I think I was just as nervous as you :D ! OK, maybe NOT as nervous as you, but I know I was excited! Hoping for some cute boys for her sake, too!!! (there HAS to be some of those! Makes high school SO much more enjoyable! :D )
Will try and sleep in, but I think I am mentally girding myself for next week. Ugh! I am SO not looking forward to school starting, as I HATE getting up in the morning!
