Chicken and Dumplings

I have had many requests through email and FB for this recipe, so here it is!
Chicken and Dumplings.
(the easy peasy way!)
1 rotisserie chicken
2 Boxes or cans of Chicken broth
3 Tsp poultry seasoning
4 cups water
Salt and pepper
3 Tbsp All purpose flour
4 Cups Bisquick
Milk

Start by picking the chicken off the bone.
(you could cook your own chicken but I don't have time usually)
Put in a large pot to boil with the 4 cups of water, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.
Mix 3-4 Tbsp all purpose flour into about a 1/2 cup water and mix really well.
Pour that into the pot as well.
Simmer on medium heat for a couple hours.
You can add some veggies if you like.  That's optional.
After you let in simmer and smell the house up real good, wink, Mix the Bisquick and milk as directed on the box.  Get your stew to boil and then drop small pieces with a spoon into the boiling stew. They will sink to the bottom at first and then float to the top.  I turn them over in the boiling stew, just to make sure they cook on both sides.
You might want to be prepared to add more dumplings because everyone will eat them up, wink.
Serve and enjoy!
Let me know how your family likes this recipe.  I didn't find this anywhere, just kind of threw everything into a pot and hoped for the best.  Now, it is a staple feel good meal in our house!

  1. I do this also! It makes the house smell so good but I eat too many dumplings so now I look like one! I read your post the other day but completely missed the last sentence so never commented - but you are read and appreciated. So glad for the winner. Mary Werner
