My favorite tools.

I had a friend recently ask me what are the things someone would need to get started in scrapbooking.
She lives in another state so I couldn't invite her to She Scrapbooks for a one on one and that started me thinking.  Who else has this dilemma?  So I thought I would recommend my favorite tools that I couldn't live with out in the paper crafting world.

This by far is my favorite trimmer.
I have tried lots of them over the years and this is the one that makes me giddy.
It cuts straight. It has a nice platform. For me this is the trimmer of choice.

Next you will need awesome scissors.  I have to have both of these.  They both have the functionality. The Honey Bee scissors are great for detail cutting.  I am a fussy cutter and for me these allow me to get into tiny little grooves for super detail cutting.  Below you will find Tim Holtz Tonic scissors.  These bad boys rock.  They will cut through wire, button shanks, chipboard, grungeboard and all sorts of stuff.  They are heavy duty and have a amazing comfort grip.  I find these are great for lefties or righties!
Adhesive...well, there are so many kinds on the market. It is really overwhelming to try and find the perfect one.  After many years of scrapbooking I have to say these are my go to adhesives.
Scotch Advanced Tape Glider is my go to of choice.  It is strong adhesive.  It also is very economical. You get a ton of adhesive in each role. The only complaint is that it is a little tedious to load the adhesive.  If you follow the instructions it is okay, but if you don't you can make a mess!
I have also come to love my Teresa Collins Mega Runner.
It is much less cumbersome then the ATG glider and the adhesive is very strong as well.
It really does stick.  And it is very user friendly, easy to load and unload the cartridge.
Who doesn't love dimension in paper crafting?  I love these foam squares.  I have used many brands and these are always my go to ones.  They peal off very easy and are nice little squares.  You can also buy them in different thicknesses.  I absolutely love the thin squares.

Last but certainly not least...Glossy Accents.  This is the perfect all around adhesive!
You can glue paper to paper as well as buttons, metal embellishments, ribbon, really anything.
This sits on my desk all the time.  I cannot run out of Glossy Accents!

I would like to say that I have not been paid by any of these companies to endorse their products.  These are my opinions that I have come to after many many years of scrapbooking and paper crafting.  I just wanted to share my favorites.  What are your favorites???  I would love it if you leave a comment so that anyone looking at getting started has other opinions to go on! Thanks for reading and sharing!

I will be back with some more favorites and a few ideas for Christmas gifts.

  1. I was delighted and a little disappointed to see that we agree on every product. Disappointed because I don't have an excuse to buy anything new. :) One thing I have been thinking about buying is the Stamping Up paper trimmer. The one with the dual bladfe; cutting and scoring without having to change blades. Have you tried this? I would appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks so much for your informative and enjoyable posts.

    1. I have not tried that trimmer out, but I can say I would like to although I am very happy with my Fiskars so I probable wouldn't trade it out. I like to just pick up my bone folder and score. It is the easiest method for me. Thanks for leaving me a comment and stopping by my blog! Have a great day.

  2. Love, love, love Stickles...especially takes on the color of anything
