Hi there bloggers! So happy to be back for yet another CC3Challenge!!!
Again I have to say THANK YOU for all the kind comments and love!
Truly, this is my happy place...getting inky!
I have been completely wowed by all the art that has been being shared throughout this challenge!
So fun!
As before, if you want to join in the fun and you don't have your Compendium of Curiosities Book III yet...you can order an autographed copy here. Tim and Mario will get it shipped right off to you! We have two weeks in between each challenge so you definitely have time to get yours.
So here is my little piece.
This time I did a tag.
The challenge this week is found on Page 39. Distress Watercoloring.
I chose to do butterflies! Is that a surprise??? hehehe.
Once I did the technique I "fussy" cut each butterfly.
I used Tim's postage stamp die as part of my background.
I blended Broken China Distress Ink on the postage stamp cut out.
I love the look of the same color stamped on blended ink, so I used Broken China and stamped postage style stamps to create the monochramatic feel.
I attached the butterflies using Glossy Accents.
The Sentiment stamp is one of Tim's. I stamped it and then cut it apart so it resembled wood planks.
I thought that would tie in the postage stamp part with the woodgrain tag.
The main tag was stamped with Tim's Woodgrain background stamp in Gathered Twigs.
Then I blended Gathered Twigs Distress Ink onto the whole tag adding a bit of Broken China to help pull the two together. I also used yet again my favorite speckled stamp to add more texture. I cut the bottom piece (imagine) off the main tag so it could be attached with jump rings. I adhered the "Imagine" piece of tag to another tag that had been covered with Tim's Tissue Wrap and colored with Broken China Distress Stain.
Below is a close up of the butterflies so you can see the watercolor effect better.
I loved this technique. Of course I had to add some stickles.
I cannot seem to do anything without a little sparkle added!
(and butterflies!!!)
So, I hope you will visit all the other Curiosity Crew's blogs...again they have blown me away with their creations! I love that we are such a diverse group. SO many different styles!
I love that we get so many different takes on the same technique!
Surely there is something for everyone!!!
This weeks generous sponsor is Inspiration Emporium!
They have donated a very generous gift certificate to be given away.
Not to mention the wonderful array of donated prizes from Tim and Mario themselves!!!
So go get started and share your art! Leave a comment on all the crew's blogs to be entered in for the fabulous prizes!!! Make sure to follow the rules listed on the Compendium of Curiosities page!
