CC3 Challenge #7

Hi everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge III.
I know I am LOVING it!
Each time I get to create something I just get giddy.
It is so fun to be given a challenge and then just create.
Just follow my heart and see where it takes me.
I am learning so much on this journey too.
To try things I might not have normally tried.
To be patient with myself.
To follow something through even though I might think it's not working.
I know, I am rambling, wink.  On to the challenge....
This week in is Painted Industrial which can be found on page 46 in Tim's Compendium of Curiosities III.
You can definitely still get it here if you don't have it yet.
I have all three and use them all the time!
SO....I had never tried this technique before!
Well...I have found a new love. I absolutely LOVE what you can do with this technique.
I will be using this many many more times for sure.

The base is a frame I picked up at Ikea.  It is to fit a 4 x 6 picture.
I like it because it had a deep back.
I cut black chipboard in strips to fit inside the frame to hold the glass at the front so it would create a shadow box. After using the Painted Industrial technique I put the pieces of the shadow box together.
First creating the inside piece with the Painted Industrial Butterfly and then attaching that to the back part of the frame, then applying all the Painted Industrial parts to all the sides of the frame.

Here are a couple more views.  I did manage to get my butterfly in as well as my lucky #3!
I thought this ideaology band had the perfect quote to convey what I wanted to with this piece.
Hope you are enjoying all the pieces from the Curiosity Crew...I love waking up and seeing what everyone has done! AND then I feel totally inspired all over again!!!!

I also would like to shout out a HUGE thank you to Tim and Mario for donating awesome prizes that are being given away and our sponsor this week Inspiration Emporium who is donating a $50 gift certificate!!!
I would also like to thank Linda Ledbetter for putting on such a fabulous challenge!!! Please make sure to stop by the CC3C home page and read all the rules to be entered in for the prizes! Miss Linda...She rocks I tell you...Yes she does! She has put so much work into this challenge it amazes me!!!
Thank you to all of you who leave such sweet comments on my blog I love reading them all! I wish I could answer everyone, but I do read everyone and it truly means so much to me!!!
So what are you waiting for??? Go get creating!!! Or go flip through the Curiosity Crew's blogs! That will surely inspire you! Happy Day!

  26. Yvonne...your transformed IKEA frame is awesome! I love your piece using Tim's industrial technique! You managed to give it that feminine touch, showing that it doesn't always have to be masculine or grungy. Your butterfly (I love butterflies, too) looks amazing as the focal point of your piece. The added Game Spinners and Gears and other little metallic Ideaology pieces really look amazing together in your design. Love it! <3 Candy
