another for fun...

Those of you who know me or my art knows that I LOVE butterflies.
They are symbolic to me.
They represent change, a new beginning, being fearless and beauty.
They make me believe in the possibilities.
I bet you might not believe I have them in my house either. wink.
I have been making things and I keep them where I can see them and enjoy them but also be reminded to embrace the unexpected and remember what they represent.
This little hanger started out as a raw piece of wood with the hangy thing.
I used Multi Matte Medium to adhere Tim's Tissue Wrap in bits and pieces to the wood.
(just like the in the last post)
I then used Distress Paint to add color.
The colors are Broken China and Picket Fence.
Then I picked some words out of Tim's Chit Chat, adhered a doily and covered it all with
Multi Matte Medium again.
The outline of the chit chat was done with the FUDE pen.
LOVE this pen as it writes on all mixed media surfaces that I have tried so far!

Here is a close up of the believe word charm that is attached to the hook.
I just used Glossy Accents to adhere it...super as an adhesive!
Next, I stamped the Blueprint Butterfly on some scrap tags and inked it up with Broken China, Salty Ocean and Peeled Paint Distress Ink with a blending tool.
After fussy cutting them out and everything was dry on the piece itself the butterflies were adhered using Glossy Accents only in the Thorax area.
This way the wings can be shaped to look like they are fluttering.
Add some Stardust Stickles, pen nibs and some rub on word and there you have it.
A one of a kind piece of home decor that surely you would love to hang anything on! hehehe.

I hope you enjoyed and found some inspiration to create some happy but inspirational pieces of home decor! I love being able to make my home my own by displaying my art and making it functional as well!
