CC3Challenge #28

Welcome back for challenge #28!!!
Hello there everyone!
Today's challenge is Alcohol Ink Ombre.
Who doesn't like a little Ombre in their life, wink....I love it!
You can find the challenge on page 57 of Tim's
Compendium of Curiosities Vol. III.
The challenge this week is being sponsored by The Funkie Junkie who has donated a very generous gift certificate as well as Tim and Mario who donated a ton of goodies to be given away!
So let's definitely give them a shout out and a huge thank you!
AND as always we hope you decide to join in the fun and challenge yourself and see where the creativity takes you! WE LOVE TO SEE WHAT YOU DO! Just make sure to follow the rules, k?
In case you don't know you can find them here.

I have to be honest here...Alcohol ink is very challenging for me.
Oh yes...CHALLENGING!
But sometimes we have to push ourselves and see what we can do, right?
This was definitely one of those for me, wink.
A CHALLENGE! lol.
I decided (since I was so challenged and all) to keep it pretty simple.
Here's my tag...
Now, I did make it into a pocket, so if I decide to use it on say a gift bag or some such thing as that, I can stick a gift card or a message in the little pocket.
It is where I tucked the paperclip that says 'life'.
Perfect place to stash a Starbucks card, hehehe.
Oops...back to the challenge.

So...you know I cannot spill the beans, but the glossy paper that said secret technique is on is adhered to a regular manila tag.  It is one of the 4x8 size tags...love this size.
Once the glossy paper was all finished with said technique and adhered down I simply folded up the bottom of the tag to create the pocket.
I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink on the background tag itself and the fabulous new
Fossilized Amber on the ribbon and little tag with the sentiment.
Oh...do I love this color...I think it's my favorite of the yellows.
Then just added the embellies that you see and there you have it.
Pretty easy peasy after the aforementioned CHALLENGE part, lol.
I sure hope you decide to play along!
It really does create a cool background effect, wink.

Okay...so if you haven't yet visited the other members of the Curiosity Crew what are you waiting for...they have blown my mind with their creative selves!
I cannot wait to see what you guys come up with!
Thanks for stopping by and as always thank you so much for all the kind and sweet comments.
YOU are why we do what we do!
YOU are what makes the late nights and these challenges so fun for us!
Have a great weekend and hope to see you back here soon!

  2. Beautiful tag, Yvonne!! Love the melded greens of your ombré background. The gold sentiment and shabby now at the top just "make" the tag. Such a beautiful contrast. Love your black stamped images, too.

  20. Oh yes, I was also challenged by this technique! It helped when I re-read the directions; I also added some extra alcohol blending solution while doing the initial step, which helped immensely. Looks like you got it going on, and what beautiful colors! I love anything with a bird on it, great choice for a sweet, pretty tag!

  24. What you did with the alcohol ink is perfect for your background Yvonne - it looks just like clouds in the sky behind your bird making me think that she is on a limb WAY UP in a tree. You took the challenge and persevered - YEAH!!! And even made a pocket too. It's a wonderful and creative project. GREAT JOB. j.
