Art Girl Lynne Forsythe!

Hi peeps, Lynne Forsythe here!!
I had a hankering, the other day,
to work in my Art Journal.
So I pulled out my

I find art journals to be a nice challenge.

If you know my style.....
I LIKE LAYERS
and layers are thick!

I began by taping the spine,
then applying a layer of gesso
over the entire spread.

I randomly ran one of
Ranger's Texture tools through the gesso
and set the journal aside to dry.

I then pulled out some leftover G45 paper
with Fern Green Archival ink.
When dry, I cut out the leaves.

I then spritzed the leaves with Tattered Angels ~ Hemlock Green
and painted the edges, for shadow, with
High Impact Paint ~ Olive.
Remember, I am working in an art journal so I
I need to create as much depth
....without depth!!

Now, the inspiration for the whole spread was
I wanted to emulate the scribbles using
a ball of twine I have.

I stamped onto a burlap remnant with
Red Geranium Archival Ink and cut out
the stamped image.
I then applied a layer of
Ranger's Multi Medium ~ Matte
onto the burlap
and coiled the twine in it.

While drying I checked on my art journal
and sprayed the gesso with
Tattered Angels
Kraft and Crushed Shells.
LOVE the end result....

I then pulled some "colors" for my "flowers".

with Distress Ink and spritzed it with water
and stamped randomly in my art journal.

Using Fern Green Archival Ink, I randomly stamped with
I "colored" the stamped leaves with Hemlock Green.

I then assembled my journal spread....

I "ghost" stamped onto the background with
(what I call white noise!)

I finished of the spread with
stamped on the same leftover G45 paper.

Here are a few closeups...
not sure I did a real good job at creating "flat"!

I hope you've enjoyed the art journaling.....
and have yourself a creative day!!
