Hi everyone, I hope your week is off to a great start. I have a fun project to share with you today. I've been super crazy at work getting ready for the fall, and trying some new things. I ran across this awesome stamp from Yvonne, and it reminded me about the new projects I've been working on in my career.
I was so inspired by this stamp, that I wanted to create a canvas to remind me that the struggles I faced in my career were there because I challenged myself to grow. In order to fly, I had to get out of my comfort zone and "onto the ledge". As terrifying as that can be sometimes, it just has to happen in order to FLY.
This canvas was born in the wee hours of the night when I couldn't sleep. My mind was filled with clutter from the day, and I wanted that to come through in my art. I used elements that had lots of texture like metal, buttons, fabric, and flowers. Then I finished it off with glass glitter and seed beads. I think this adds a lot of light and texture to the piece. For the canvas, I wanted rich vibrant jewel tones. I just love the purples and blues mixed with golds. The gold represents the light that comes when you realize your ideas are breaking through and your voice is being heard.
I used a Melissa Francis clip to hold a "faux" Chalkboard in place that contained the sentiment from Yvonne's stamp set. This will remind me daily that self challenges are for personal growth, and to stay focus and not give up.
Here is a look at the final piece.
I just love how this piece turned out. It was so fun to create, and was a great stash buster! I hope you enjoyed the process, and I could inspire you. Thanks for stopping in today,
