Giving Thanks by Lisa Gregory

The celebration of Thanksgiving is, in general, a feast to give thanks for the fruits of the previous harvest. We take this time to reflect what we are thankful for. This year, for the American Heart Walk, to raise money, I baked New York Style Crumbcakes. Donating is my way of giving thanks, to the research of heart disease. But how about baking a batch to bring to a gathering! To add a special touch, I created tags for the wrappers and added the perfect touch. A message of thanks, stamped with the "Thanks so much" stamp which is included in Card Sentiment stamp set. The various stamps are perfect for cards and tags, but can also be used in any of your projects. I am also thankful for the opportunity Yvonne has given me to be a part of Art Girls and create with her designs.

I stamped the "Thanks so much" stamp on thin strips of vellum. Then I just cut the strips apart. This was quick and easy since I had 2 dozen to create. I used black Archival ink. I used a tape runner to adhere them to the tags.

I used a die cut for the tags and leaves, then used traditional Autumn colors for the leaves. The tags are just plain chipboard to match the natural cupcake holders used to bake the mini cakes. I placed each cake in a decorative cellophane wrapper and tied it with twine and jute along with a tag, for a natural look.

I packed all of my cakes in the bottom of an empty pizza box to take them to the bake sale at the hospital. Needless to say, each and every one was sold...And everyone commented about the presentation.

Thank you for joining  me and allowing me to share my latest project. I hope you give the Card Sentiments set a try. There are so many possibilities with the 10 individual stamps included in the set. I just showed you 1...
