Playin' with Distress Crayons

Hi Peeps!
While I was away at
The Beacon Scrapbook Retreat, teaching
I had the opportunity to shop
a local scrapbook store.
......and it WAS WONDERFUL!!
I got to touch and feel
SO MANY new (to me) products!

I FINALLY had the opportunity to get my hands on
a package Distress Crayons.
(not used yet)
and then my BESTIE lent me the set she bought
(now that's a true crafty friend!!)
....and I just had to PLAY!
I pulled out a "tovers" art journal page,
which consisted of a page from my Mix and Match book
that I stenciled with various mediums.

I colored the stenciled area with various colors of Distress Crayons.
Mixing the colors where they touched.
When dry I painted the whole page with Distress Collage Medium.

At this point I chose what I wanted my page to say!
I chose the Yvonne Blair Designs/Impression Obsession

I stamped it onto a piece of Tissuestock.
When dry I cut it out!

I then applied Multi Medium ~ Matte to the back of the stamped image
and adhered it to my art journal page.

Then I applied a layer of Distress Collage Medium ~ Vintage.

....and it wouldn't be me if I didn't put a flower on it.
I ran the Distress Crayon lightly over the flower.

I spritzed the flower with water and used a
paint brush to move the color around.

I pulled out a bit of greenery and colored it with
another color from the Distress Crayons set.
When dry I applied a layer of Distress Collage Medium.

Then I put my page all together....

a few closeups....

I hope you have enjoyed my creative adventure.
I will definitely have to play with these
products again!!

.....and THANK YOU for stoppin' by!
