{about me}

I have always had a love of working with paper and scrapbooking was just the hobby I had been looking for.  In 1997 I went to work in a store that had a HUGE scrapbooking department and within one year I was promoted to the scrapbook manager, buyer, teacher and designer.  I have a huge passion for creating with paper and my boss noticed!  I started traveling to trade shows, picking out the latest and greatest that was to be on our shelves.  I designed sample layouts for the store and began teaching classes in 1998. In 1999 I was talked into putting together a retreat for scrapbookers to attend.  A get-a-way weekend where woman could come for the weekend and scrapbook, socialize, learn something new and be inspired.  So...I put together my first retreat sponsored by the store in which I worked.  I wanted the girls who came to this to be inspired, to learn a new technique, to find the passion for scrapbooking I had found.  Needless to say the retreats where a huge success and I am still doing them today with my new found love...She Scrapbooks!  She Scrapbooks came along just at the right time.  One of my best friends decided to open a scrapbook store right when I needed to find a new place to call my home.  She Scrapbooks opened in October of 2009 and it has been wild ride. Stephanie is the owner of SHE and is a force, she is savvy, she is dedicated, she is organized, she is my SHE sister.  I now have a new place I call my home away from home.  A place where I can be creative, spread my love of paper crafting, spread my passion for telling our stories.  It has become a very special place and I feel very fortunate to be a part of the SHE dream. SHE is where I am living my dream.  I am a teacher, a designer, a buyer and the manager of SHE.  I want to keep sharing this passion I have for all things made with paper!  So this is where the current chapter of my book is.
I am also happily married to my hubby of 18 years.  We have a beautiful daughter who keeps me on my toes and gives me lots of memories to scrapbook.  She keeps the inspiration flowing as well as the passion to make sure that she knows where she came from, that she knows who her family is.
I knew this was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  Paper crafting has brought so much into my life, confidence, friends, my job, and a way to preserve those everyday memories of my families lives!
